The US Women’s National Team enjoyed the perfect tune-up for the World Cup later this month with a 2-0 victory over Wales Sunday afternoon.
The Americans, who are heading to Australia and New Zealand in the hope of clinching a historic three-peat, faced the Welsh side in San Jose in their only friendly ahead of the tournament down under.
But the reigning champions proved they didn’t need much more of a warm up before their Group Stage opener against Vietnam on July 21 as a stunning brace from Trinity Rodman saw them breeze to a win.
