Jurgen Klopp has been handed a boost with the returns of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Fabinho to training.
The trio, who were all eliminated from the World Cup at the quarter-final stage, are in contention for the club for their Carabao Cup visit to Manchester City later this week.
It comes after Klopp had said on Friday that they all could be involved – though Virgil van Dijk will remain absent for the League Cup tie as Liverpool monitor his fitness ahead of the Premier League’s return.
Jurgen Klopp gave the entire squad a talk before they underwent training together for the first time with – almost – the full squad
‘Yeah, there’s a chance, of course – they train already,’ the 55-year-old had said.
‘Henderson is already training here. Virgil is training here but I don’t think we will try that. Hendo we will see, Trent we will see.
‘I hope we all get through it and we all know in England, and in Europe in general, there’s kind of a virus going around, so we hope we can stay out of that.
Alisson – who played almost every minute for Brazil at Qatar – made his return to full training
Klopp spoke to his captain Jordan Henderson as Liverpool’s training sessions were stepped up
‘Then we will make the decision obviously on Wednesday who can play on Thursday. But it’s good and will be a very interesting game after that period but I’m looking forward to it.’
Releasing photographs of their Monday session as preparations for the return of domestic football were stepped up, Liverpool’s players appeared all smiles as the majority of the players went through their steps at the AXA Training facility.
Both Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate were absent. The Dutchman owing to his extended rest period while Konate was involved with France in Sunday’s World Cup final and will remain absent for at least a further week.
In slightly balmier temperatures than have been seen in the United Kingdom for the past week or so, the likes of Jordan Henderson, Alisson, Alexander Arnold and Fabinho all trained.
Alisson and Henderdson, in particular, were heavily involved in their sides’ pursuits in Qatar though the cramped nature of the current season means a swift return to training for them.
Henderson, who had travelled onto Dubai following England’s exit from Qatar, joined his team-mates on Liverpool’s training pitches.
Alexander-Arnold, who only played a handful of minutes for Gareth Southgate’s side at the World Cup, looked to do some on-the-ball work ahead of Thursday’s date with Manchester City.
Elsewhere, the likes of Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Thiago – none of whom went to the tournament in Qatar – all maintained their preparations for the return of action.

Roberto Firmino – whose Liverpool career received something of a renaissance in the first few months of the season – will be looking to maintain his form
There was of course no sign of Luis Diaz, who will be out until March it was reported after undergoing knee surgery following a further issue picked up in Dubai.
Kostas Tsimikas laughed and joked with Salah as the players were put through their paces in the gym. Klopp appeared to have assembled the entire squad together for a chat prior to the training session beginning on the grass, with the manager keen to galvanise his squad for a much-improved second part of the season.
Calvin Ramsay, who has made a handful of appearances for the club having signed from Aberdeen in the summer, looked prominent in the pictures from training and could feature against Manchester City.
Liverpool’s trip to Manchester City is followed by a visit to Aston Villa on Boxing Day as Klopp’s side look to plot a route up the Premier League table following a disappointing first part of the season.
