France president Emmanuel Macron visited Morocco’s dressing room after their semi-final clash to heap praise on Sofyan Amrabat.
France beat Morocco 2-0 in the semi-final of the World Cup at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani.
Morocco were disappointed with the result but Macron felt there were positives to take away from the game and lauded Amrabat for his performances in Qatar.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Macron made an effort to visit Amrabat in Morcco’s dressing room after their semi-final clash on Wednesday night.
The 44-year-old is said to have called Amrabat ‘the best midfielder of the tournament’ during their exchange.
Macron went on to join Didier Deschamps and the rest of the France squad in their changing room.

Deschamps and his side began their celebrations on the pitch following the final whistle but continued the party in the changing room.
Antoine Griezmann was at the heart of the celebrations. He was seen sliding across the champagne covered floor before lifting a speaker above his head.
Olivier Giroud was seen singing and dancing on the table in the middle of the room, while Raphael Varane and Matteo Guendouzi cheered him on.
Jordan Veretout, Dayot Upamecano, Aurelien Tchouameni and Ousmane Dembélé were also pictured being hosed in champagne.
