Mexico national team figure Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano put three past Daint Ramaj to propel PSV Eindhoven to a 5-2 triumph over Ajax at Philips Stadion.

The visitors started strong and created a few good chances before taking the lead 10 minutes in. Branco van den Boomen struck from outside that box that somehow found its way into the back of the net giving Ajax an early 1-0 advantage.

Lozano scored his first of the day 10 minutes later and beat Ramaj at his near post to bring the game to level terms. But Ajax went back in front just before half time thanks to Brian Brobbey, who missed a couple big chances prior to finally getting on the scoresheet.

From that point on, it was all PSV. The home side tied it up through club legend Luuk de Jong, who scored in front of an open net after Lozano’s long-range struck came cracking off the post and into de Jong’s path.

PSV substitute Ismael Saibari also got on the scoresheet before Lozano rounded out his hat trick, scoring just seven minutes after coming off the bench in the second half. Lozano’s second goal was a simple finish in the end, as he got on the end of a well-placed cross from Johan Bakayoko and slotted it home past Ramaj.

Lozano capped off his stunning performance by scoring yet another somewhat awkward goal for the hosts. The 28-year-old found himself on the end of another cross to the back post and seemed destined to wrap up his hat trick initially but Ramaj got a glove on it before the ball came off Lozano (while he was sliding on the field) and slowly rolled into the back of the net.

Lozano is now up to four goals and one assist in eight appearances for PSV, who sit at the top of the Eredivisie table with 30 points and are a whopping 25 points clear of Ajax, who are dead last in the standings with a mere five points. In 88 appearances for PSV and now fully back in his second stint with the Dutch club, Lozano has now amassed 44 goals in 88 appearances.

PSV and Lozano return to action on November 4 for a league clash with Heracles at Erve Asito.
