‘We’re going on vacation together now, right?’: Bastian Schweinsteiger makes a VERY flirty comment to host Esther Sedlaczek on German TV – but she tells him ‘nein, nein, nein!’ at the risk of his wife Ana Ivanovic’s wrath!
Bastian Schweinsteiger made things very awkward for his co-host on German television with his flirty comments after Argentina’s World Cup triumph.
ARD presenter Esther Sedlaczek was wrapping up their coverage of Sunday’s final from the Lusail Stadium when she unwisely allowed the former Germany midfielder the last word.
Sedlaczek said: ‘Basti, we’ve come to the end of it. That’s it for us. It was a lot of fun with you. Thank for that.’

Schweinsteiger joked they were ‘spending the next two weeks together on holiday’ in a flirty comment that received the reply: ‘Have fun with your family’
Unable to resist one final joke, the former Germany, Manchester United and Bayern Munich player replies: ‘Thank you Esther, it was a lot of fun. Now we’re going on vacation together for two weeks, right?’
Sedlaczek is visibly surprised by his comment, which certainly risked annoying Schweinsteiger’s former tennis player wife Ana Ivanovic.
‘Yes, of course,’ she responds before quickly correcting herself. ‘No, no, no. Of course we don’t!’
Pointedly, she then added: ‘Have fun with your family. And you have the last words in the studio.’
The camera then cuts from the stadium in Qatar to the studio with the pair smiling awkwardly.
